Whistler Outdoor Photography Workshops came back with a new four day long summit. This last year we offered two separate workshops to cover a larger interest range in outdoor photography. The first workshop was for those interested in general outdoor photography with some light action including landscape, journalism, and lifestyle shoots with models. The second workshop was for those interested in focusing on action sports, lifestyle, and working with professional athletes. The instructors worked and developed participants processes one on one regardless of their ability, and both courses were open to anyone. There was also be an evening lecture series open to the public to learn and be inspired by world class photographers and industry leaders. They shared their best images and the stories of how they were created.
The Whistler Outdoor Photography Summit focuses on the entire process of documenting, exploring the outdoors and capturing amazing outdoor visuals. The day courses work on being out in the field learning how to manage, direct and communicate with subjects to make what participants are looking for come to life in all types of conditions. Each day includes in classroom editing, reviewing, image processing and hands-on software instruction. There were two seminars each evening from Thursday to Saturday with a final presentation dinner on Sunday.
Right away moving into next year we would like to expand the field workshops into more defined interests and difficulties giving the opportunity to continue from what was learned this year. ALso offering technical instruction only courses for photoshop, lightroom, and business management separate from the field workshops. We will continue to progress with the evening series lectures presentations with a new line up of presenters and guest speakers with more detailed topics and instruction.
